| Welcome all teachers, alumnae, and visitors, In the 32 years since Fairfax Hall closed, there have been many attempts to rekindle interest in the school's legacy and provide a place for alumnae to talk and reconnect. Some classes were singularly successful at staying in touch, and we had almost 400 alumna's information captured about five years ago, but we needed a permanent home!! The building is beautiful and physically stable now, as you can see above; the sloping floors are a memory, the porch has been enclosed, the lobby has been restored and has a memorabilia cabinet with school mementos (any donations for posterity like yearbooks or awards?) It looks pretty good for 117 years old. This is due to some extremely devoted people who carefully renovated the building and gave her a new purpose to fulfill for many more decades. Thank you to Bill Hausrath and the Waynesboro Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and special thanks to the folks who bought the front lawn to protect it from development. Now, it's time for our alma mater's alumnae directory to be put in the same condition! This website is just beginning. In the coming months there will be added protected security for alumna data and a self-service type database, but first please take a moment to complete the Alumna Registration form with your contact information for yourself and for other alumnae you know. |
